Prof. Dr.Mehmet Tahir Oruç performs his surgeries at Antalya Medical Park Hospital, a big chain of hospitals in all over Turkey. It’s a fully-equipped hospital located in Lara, Antalya.

We offer to our patients a package including transfer from/ to the airport, a stay of 4-5 nights at the hospital, a full, necessary pre-operation check-up. The patient can have 1 companion who can stay with, free of charges.

Our check up includes:

-Blood test

- EKG and a cardiologist consultation (doing an echograph as well).

- Breathing test & Chest X-ray and a pulmonologist  consultation. 

- An abdomen USG

- An Endoscopy with sedation

- A consultation done by the anaesthetist.

-Other specific consultations can be done if it’s needed.

The second day after surgery, our patients can meet with the dietitian, and they will have a booklet guiding them about their nutrition.

Prof.Mehmet Tahir Oruç worked as fellow at the Department of Hepatobiliary and Liver Surgery, Presbyterian University Hospital and University of Pittsburgh, the U.S.A., for 6 months in 2002. 

He worked as a Chief of General Surgery Department in Antalya Training and Research Hospital from 2012 to 2019. Furthermore, he had contributed to lots of bariatric surgeon’s education during their surgical residency too.

Prof. Mehmet Tahir Oruç, M.D. received education at School of Medicine, Ankara University, from 1983 to 1989 and was awarded the title “Medical Doctor” in 1989. He was awarded the title “General Surgeon” at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital in December 1994. After residency, he worked as fellow dealing with surgical oncology at Ankara Oncology Training and Research Hospital for 3 years. He was awarded the title “Associate Professor and Deputy Chief of Clinic” in 2005, “Chief of General Surgery” in 2009 and “Professor of General Surgery” at School of Medicine, Istinye University, in 2019.
He had training on Laparoscopic Lower Gastrointestinal Surgery (closed colon and rectum surgeries) at Cuschieri Skilsl Center, which is a globally known reputable Center, in Dundee/Scotland in 2010. Likewise, he received Robotic Surgery Training at Acıbadem University in 2015. Moreover, he made presentations in many international scientific meetings.

Prof. Oruç, has various scientific memberships and board memberships (Turkish Surgical Association, Turkish Association for Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery, Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery and International Federation for Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders). Also, he was reviewer in various scientific journals. He is also a board member of Turkish Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Association.
