Dr. İbrahim Ercan, a distinguished plastic surgeon, was born in Izmir in 1970. His journey into medicine began at Kayseri Science High School, where he graduated in 1987. Following his passion, he pursued a degree at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, starting in the same year. Dr. Ercan's dedication to his field led him to specialize in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) and Head and Neck Surgery at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital from 1996 to 1999.
His expertise flourished during his tenure as chief assistant at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital, where he honed his skills for 10 years. In 2007, his commitment to excellence was recognized when he attained the title of Associate Professor after passing rigorous examinations. Dr. Ercan's pursuit of knowledge and skill expansion led him abroad three times for specialized training in rhinology (nose).
Dr. Ercan's interest in Facial Plastic and Facial Surgery blossomed as he attended numerous domestic and international courses and conferences. He had the privilege of sharing experiences with esteemed professionals like Prof. Dr. Pietro Palma, president of the European Association of Facial Plastic Surgery, and plastic surgeon Prof. Dr. Giovanni Botti. His quest for knowledge took him to Vienna Medical University in Austria, where he studied under Prof. Dr. Mario Pelle, an eminent figure in facial plastic surgery.
Dr. Ercan's contributions to the field are not only academic but also practical, as he has served as an instructor and speaker at various national otorhinolaryngology meetings. In 2012, he met the experience and publication criteria of the Ministry of Health, earning him the title of 'Oral, Facial, and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist'.
Dr. Ercan's memberships in prestigious organizations such as the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and the Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Association highlight his commitment to professional development. He is also a member of the Turkish Facial Plastic Surgery Association, Turkish Rhinology Association, European Rhinology Association, Turkish Ear, Nose and Throat Foundation, and the Istanbul Chamber of Medicine. Dr. Ercan is a devoted family man, married with two daughters, balancing his professional excellence with a fulfilling personal life.
