Doctor Aydın graduated from Dokuz Eylül University in 1997 and became a specialist in general surgery in 2004. He established the Organ Transplantation Center at Gaziantep University in 2008, where he performed the first liver and kidney transplants in the Southeast Anatolia region. He also performed the first living and deceased donor child and adult transplants, as well as combined liver and kidney transplants and split transplants.

Mart 2023 tarihinde devlet hastanesinde yaptırdığımız mamografi mr ve ultrason işlemleri sonucunda ilk muayenede sol memede kitle olduğu söylendi ve 3 ay sonra kontrol istendi. 3 ay sonra yapılan benzer tetkikleri sonra da memede olumsuz bir durum tespit edilemedi denildi. Biz de oluşan kuşku sonucunda üniversite hastanesine gidip muayene olduktan sonra biyopsi alındı ancak patoloji sonucundan sonuç alınamadığı ve cerrahi yöntemle yeniden alınması gerektiği söylendi. Bu şekilde sonuca ulaşayacagimizi anladık ve iyi bir araştırma sonucunda Prof.Dr. Ünal Aydın hocamızın klinigine geldik. Daha ilk girişte bizi karşılayan görevlilerin sıcak karsilamalari ve yaklaşımı bizde büyük bir rahatlama ve güven duygusu oluşturdu. Vakit geçirmeden Ünal hocamız beni muayeneye aldı. Önce konuşarak beni rahatlattı. O anda isabetli bir karar verdiğimden emin oldum. Müteakiben bütün tetkikleri incelendi ve acilen ameliyatınma karar verildi. Ünal hocam ameliyatımı kendisi yaptı .
