MISTanbul Clinic - Doç. Dr. Adem Binnetoglu

Assoc. Dr. Adem Binnetoğlu, a true global success story, was born in Kars in 1980. From his early education, he demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, consistently ranking at the top. His journey led him to Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, where he achieved the first-place ranking in his 4th term and ultimately graduated as the third-ranked student in 2006.

Shortly thereafter, in the same year, Dr. Binnetoğlu achieved a remarkable Turkish rank in the TUS (Medical Specialization Examination) and spent a year as an Ophthalmology assistant at Beyoğlu Eye Training and Research Hospital. In 2007, he once again excelled in the TUS exam, selecting the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Head and Neck Surgery at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine for specialization. He earned the title of Specialist Doctor in 2013.

From 2013 to 2017, Dr. Binnetoğlu served as a Specialist Doctor at Marmara University ENT Head and Neck Surgery Department. During this period, he not only provided valuable training to students and assistants but also performed over 6,000 surgeries with incredible dedication.

In 2015, he took on the role of a professor in the Department of Pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, an esteemed institution in the United States. Here, he collaborated with renowned experts Dr. Daniel Choo and Prof. Dr. John H. Greinwald, specializing in pediatric ear, nose and throat conditions.

Returning to Marmara University ENT Head and Neck Surgery Department in 2017 as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Binnetoğlu made significant contributions through original, scientifically valuable publications and innovative academic studies. His outstanding achievements led to his appointment as an Associate Professor later the same year.

Dr. Binnetoğlu's groundbreaking research, such as his work on a new method to prevent bleeding after tonsillectomy titled "Gelatin - Thrombin Hemostatic Matrix," garnered global attention and was featured in Reuters Health News Agency.

In 2018, he introduced a pioneering surgical technique, 'Intraoperative Intratumoral Injection of Gelatin – Thrombin Matrix (III-GTHM) for Carotid Body Tumour Excision,' revolutionizing the treatment of carotid body tumors and gaining international recognition.

Dr. Binnetoğlu's pursuit of excellence extended to his achievements in the European Board Examination Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (EBE – ORL) in 2016, earning him the European Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases, Head and Neck Surgery Proficiency Diploma.

Continuing his quest for knowledge, Dr. Binnetoğlu excelled in the USMLE (United States Medical License Examination) and obtained the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) certificate in 2017. From 2018 to 2020, he honed his skills at Tufts University St. Louis in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, focusing on Rhinology, becoming Turkey's first officially certified Rhinology High Specialization Specialist.

Dr. Binnetoğlu's expertise in Rhinology extended to his time working with leading experts in the field, including Peter Catalano, Dr. Tonia Farmer, Dr. Manuel Bautista, Dr. Rebecca S. Bailey, and Dr. Ritha Kartan. He also provided comprehensive lectures on Rhinology to various medical professionals.

During his tenure in the USA, Dr. Binnetoğlu performed over 1,000 nose and sinus surgeries, with several of these procedures being considered global innovations.

With a post-specialty career marked by over 10,000 surgeries, Dr. Binnetoğlu now imparts his vast knowledge and expertise as an Associate Professor in the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat and Head and Neck Surgery at Marmara University. He is happily married and a proud parent of three children.
