Dr. Ufuk Bilkay

Prof. Dr. Ufuk Bilkay is a distinguished faculty member of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Ege University. Born in Izmir in 1966, Dr. Bilkay embarked on his medical journey at Ege University's medical faculty in 1984, culminating in his graduation as a doctor in 1990. His pursuit of excellence led him to specialize in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Ege University, following a year as a resident doctor at Dokuz-Eylül University's department of urology.

In 1998, Dr. Bilkay furthered his expertise at Emory University in Atlanta, USA, as a "Research Fellow." There, he delved into endoscopic plastic surgery, microsurgery, and reconstructive breast surgery, particularly breast reconstruction post-cancer. His research projects and presentations led to publications in the American Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, showcasing his dedication to advancing the field.

Returning to Ege University, Dr. Bilkay became a specialist in aesthetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery, eventually being appointed Assistant Professor Doctor in 2001 and Associate Professor in 2005. Seeking to expand his knowledge, he collaborated with renowned surgeons such as Dr. Bahman Guyuron in the United States, further honing his expertise in facial and nasal aesthetics.

In 2011, Dr. Bilkay attained the title of professor, a testament to his dedication to education and patient care. His contributions to the field are evident in his extensive publications, including 45 scientific articles in international journals and numerous presentations at congresses.

Dr. Ufuk Bilkay is a founding member of the Association for Aesthetic Facial and Nose Surgery and heads the same association.
