MD. Serdar Kaçar

Prof. Dr. Serdar KAÇAR is a distinguished figure in the field of General Surgery and Organ Transplantation, with a career marked by significant achievements and contributions. After specializing in general surgery in 1996, Dr. KAÇAR served as a Specialist at SSK (social insurance institution) for 9 years, where he honed his expertise in surgical procedures and patient care. In 2005, he was granted the title of Associate Professor-General Surgery, recognizing his outstanding skills and dedication to the field.

Between 2005 and 2012, Dr. KAÇAR made substantial contributions to healthcare by establishing kidney transplant centers in several prestigious hospitals, including İzmir Private Kent Hospital, Istanbul Private Gaziosmanpasa Hospital, and Medicalpark Goztepe Hospital. His leadership and expertise were instrumental in the success of these centers, where he also served as the chief executive, ensuring the highest standards of care for patients.

Since 2013, Dr. KAÇAR has been a valuable member of the medical team at İzmir Private Kent Hospital, where he established the Obesity Clinic. His work in this clinic has been transformative, with Dr. KAÇAR performing over 200 gastric reduction operations, helping patients achieve healthier lives and overcome obesity-related health challenges.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. KAÇAR has been actively involved in scientific research and publication. He has authored more than 50 international publications, approximately 100 national publications, and has contributed as a section author and editor to 12 books. Dr. KAÇAR's expertise is widely recognized, and he has served as a lecturer, session moderator, science board member, and regulatory board member in numerous scientific congresses held both at home and abroad. He has also served as a referee and editor for domestic and international magazines, further showcasing his commitment to advancing medical knowledge and practices. Dr. KAÇAR's contributions to the field of surgery and transplantation have been invaluable, and his dedication to patient care and scientific research continues to make a lasting impact on healthcare.
