Prof. Dr. Selahattin Özmen is a highly accomplished plastic surgeon with an impressive background and extensive experience in the field. Born in Kızıltepe, Mardin, Dr. Özmen completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Izmir before pursuing his medical degree at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1988. Throughout his academic journey, he excelled in his studies and was awarded the Şeref Zileli Successful Student of the Year Award in 1994.
After graduating from medical school in 1995, Dr. Özmen began his career as a research assistant at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed his specialist training in February 2002 and furthered his expertise with a research fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the United States, focusing on allogeneic extremity and face transplantations, stem cells, ischemia-reperfusion, and nerve healing.

He currently serves as a Professor Doctor at Istanbul American Hospital and Koç University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, specializing in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery. He has also been actively involved in academia, serving on the editorial boards of several esteemed medical journals and contributing to numerous international publications and books.
