After completing his medical education at Aachen University Faculty of Medicine (RWTH Aachen) in 2001, Dr. Ercan pursued specialized training, obtaining certifications in General Surgery in 2006, Hand Surgery in 2010, and Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery in 2014 from Germany's North Rhine Medical Chamber.

His dedication to excellence led him to further his training in Vascular Surgery at the Vascular Surgery Clinic of Mülheim ad Ruhr Proteastan (EVK) Hospital in Germany in 2003. Dr. Ercan's commitment to professional development is evident through his work as Senior Chief Resident, Deputy Head of Department, and Head of Reconstructive Surgery Department in various Training Hospitals and University Hospitals in Germany.
