Prof. K. Turgay Akgül was born in Üsküdar in 1974 and completed his high school education at Malatya Science High School. Graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1998, he swiftly embarked on a remarkable career in urology. Passing the Medical Specialization Examination that same year, he secured a position in the Urology Department of the Turkish Yüksek İhtisas Hospital, initiating his residency.

Prof. Akgül's influence extends beyond academia, as he actively contributes to the field's development through his roles on the Board of Directors and Advisory Boards of various esteemed international and national journals. His dedication to urology is further evidenced by his membership in prestigious organizations such as the European Urology Association, Turkish Urology Association, Andrology Association, and Continence Association.
