Born in Karaman in 1968, Prof. Dr. Haşmet Bardakçı embarked on his journey in medicine with a passion for cardiovascular surgery. He graduated from Konya Anatolian High School and Eskişehir Medical School before completing his residency in Cardiovascular Surgery at Istanbul University Cardiology Institute Florence Nightingale Hospital and Turkiye Yüksek Ihtisas Hospital (Ankara). During this pivotal period, he had the privilege of learning from esteemed professors, instilling in him the importance of personal dedication and teamwork in patient care.
His pursuit of excellence led him to the University of Columbia, USA, as a scholar of the Ministry of Health of Turkiye, where he collaborated with renowned experts in the field. These experiences broadened his understanding of heart and vascular surgery, shaping his approach to patient care.
Elevating through the ranks, Dr. Bardakçı became an Associate Professor in 2008 and a Professor of cardiovascular surgery in 2013. Since 2001, when he assumed the role of Chief Assistant, he has been dedicated to training numerous assistants and young colleagues both in Turkiye and abroad.
