Dr. Erkan Tarhan, born in Ankara in 1971, embarked on his medical career at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, graduating in 1995. Following this, he completed his specialty training at the prestigious Ear Nose and Throat Clinic of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health Ankara Training and Research Hospital in 1999. Dr. Tarhan's career has been marked by a strong commitment to surgical excellence and academic achievement.
In 2001, Dr. Tarhan joined the Ankara Hospital ENT Clinic, where he served as a trainer and chief assistant staff, honing his surgical skills and gaining valuable experience. Transitioning to Başkent University Faculty of Medicine in 2003, he began his academic career as a lecturer, eventually earning the title of associate professor in 2006. Dr. Tarhan continued to excel in academia at Near East University Faculty of Medicine, Nicosia, where he became a Professor and held various leadership roles.
Dr. Tarhan has made significant contributions to ENT research and education throughout his career. He has completed numerous research projects, published extensively in international and national journals, and presented at various scientific meetings and congresses. Additionally, he has been actively involved in medical education, conducting theoretical and practical courses and contributing to the training of ENT assistants.
Currently, Prof. Dr. Tarhan practices in Ankara, focusing on nose and facial plastic surgery, ear surgery, and oral, facial, and maxillofacial surgery. He performs surgeries in renowned private hospitals in Ankara, ensuring his patients receive the highest quality of care. Prof. Dr. Tarhan is also an advanced open water diver, uniquely qualified to address diving-related ENT issues.
