Born in Ankara in 1977, Prof. Dr. Bengü Ekinci Köktekir completed her primary, secondary, and high school education in Ankara. She graduated with honors from Hacettepe University English Medical Faculty in 2001. She then specialized in ophthalmology at Ankara Training and Research Hospital Eye Clinic from 2001 to 2004. Prof. Dr. Köktekir served as an ophthalmologist at Ankara Gazi Mustafa Kemal State Hospital and Bolu İzzet Baysal State Hospital.
In February 2011, she joined Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine as an assistant professor. By 2013, she furthered her expertise in oculoplastic and surgical practices at the University of California San Francisco, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Robert Kersten. During her tenure, she conducted scientific research and published numerous papers. In April 2014, she achieved the title of Associate Professor, and by August 2020, she earned the prestigious title of Professor.
In 2022, Prof. Dr. Köktekir opened her private clinic in Konya. She continues to provide exceptional care to patients from the region and beyond, including expatriates and international patients.
