Faruk Karateke

I was born in Hatay on April 13, 1979. In 1996, I enrolled at Hatay Kırıkhan Anatolian High School, and in 2003, I successfully completed my studies at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine.

I have expertise in several areas of specialization, including Obesity and Metabolic Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Groin Hernia, Breast Diseases, Thyroid and Parathyroid Diseases, and Colorectal Diseases (such as Colorectal Cancer, Hemorrhoids, and Anal Fissure). Additionally, I am knowledgeable in the diagnosis and treatment of Esophageal, Gastric, and Pancreatic Diseases.

Throughout my career, I have contributed to the field through research and publications. I have a total of 42 articles published in journals indexed by SCI (Science Citation Index) and SCI-e (Science Citation Index Expanded). Furthermore, I have presented over 50 papers at national conferences, sharing my findings and insights with fellow professionals in the medical community.

Between 2004 and 2005, I practiced as a general practitioner at Bursa Soğukpınar Health Center. Following that, from 2005 to 2010, I pursued my specialization in General Surgery at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine. I obtained the title of General Surgery specialist upon completing my specialization thesis titled "Surgical Treatment of Parathyroid Adenomas." Subsequently, from 2010 to 2016, I worked as a General Surgery specialist at Adana Numune Training and Research Hospital. In 2016, I attained the position of Associate Professor in General Surgery. From 2016 to 2018, I served as an instructor at Adana Numune Training and Research Hospital. From May 2018 to December 2021, I held a position at Özel VM Medical Park Mersin Hospital. Since January 2022, I have been providing medical services to my patients at my private clinic.
