In 1991, Acıbadem A class Healthcare Services chain opened its first medical facility in Istanbul's Acıbadem district. Today, with a workforce of approximately 22,000, the group comprises 22 hospitals and 19 medical centers, and is the leading provider of healthcare services in Turkey and the surrounding region.
Acıbadem's remarkable growth and development have not been limited to its home country; in 2012, the group joined forces with IHH Healthcare Berhad, one of the largest healthcare groups in the Far East, to become part of the world's second-largest healthcare chain by market capitalization. Furthermore, since acquiring Tokuda in 2016, Acıbadem's global expansion continues.
