Prof. Dr. Tamer Demir is a distinguished ophthalmologist with a rich academic and professional background. He embarked on his medical journey at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, where he graduated in 1991. Following his graduation, Dr. Demir dedicated himself to serving the community, starting as the Physician of Kayseri Sarız Central Health Center from 1991 to 1992. Subsequently, he served as a TB War Dispensary Doctor in Antalya Kaş between 1992 and 1993.
Dr. Demir's passion for ophthalmology led him to pursue a career in this field. He worked as a Research Assistant at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Eye Hospital, from 1994 to 1998. His dedication and commitment to his work were recognized when he was appointed Assistant Professor Doctor in 1998. Dr. Demir continued to excel in his field, earning the title of Associate Professor in 2006 and eventually Professor Doctor in 2012, all while serving at Fırat University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology.
Between 2012 and 2017, Dr. Demir continued his academic and professional journey at ÇOMÜ Faculty of Medicine, where he served as a Professor Doctor in the Department of Ophthalmology. During his tenure at ÇOMÜ Faculty of Medicine, he was honored with the position of Dean of ÇOMÜ Faculty of Medicine, showcasing his leadership abilities and dedication to education and research.
Dr. Demir's commitment to advancing the field of ophthalmology led him to assume the position of Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at ALKU Faculty of Medicine in 2021. His tenure at ALKU Faculty of Medicine further solidified his reputation as a leader and innovator in the field.
In 2022, Dr. Demir made the transition to the private sector, where he continues to offer his expertise and services.
