Ph. Vedat Sar

Vedat Şar earned his medical degree from Istanbul University in 1981 and finished residency at Hacettepe University Medical Faculty Hospital between 1981 and 1986. From 1986 to 1989, he worked in Forensic and Military Hospitals in Istanbul, and joined Istanbul University Department of Psychiatry as an associate professor in 1990. He became a full professor in 1996 and established the Clinical Psychotherapy Unit and the Dissociative Disorders Program in the same department. Currently, he is the Chair of Psychiatry Department in Koç University Medical School and a consultant psychiatrist in VKV American Hospital, and practices solo in Istanbul.

kendisinden önce 3 farklı kişiyle seansa başlamış psikoterapiyi onlardan ibaret sanıyordum ta ki Vedat bey ile tanışana kadar;ülkemizde terapi danışana öğüt vermekten daha ileriye gidemiyor bu açıdan kendini bu alanda geliştirmek isteyen herkesin Vedat Beyin kapısında sıra beklemesi gerektiğini düşünüyorum.Bu işi hakkıyla yapmak, insanların ruhsal sıkıntılarını gerçekten tedavi etmek isteyen meslektaşlarını... Baba tramvası ile 40 yaşına gelmiş bir bireyim ;hep ben değişmem gözü ile baktığım kendimde geldiğim noktalara inanamıyorum.Süreç iki seanslık değil ,sabırlı olup sonuca sindire sindire ilerlemek gerekiyormuş..Beni destekleyen eşimin de sayesinde sona doğru yaklaşıyoruz..Sahip olduğum tramvalardan birer birer arınıp özüme doğru dönmek bana inanılmaz mutluluk veriyor.Bilgi birikimi ,tecrübesi,meslek ahlakı sebebiyle Vedat beyle karşılamak hayatımın ikinci şansı oldu...o gerçek bir RUH CERRAHI...

In 1981, Vedat Şar graduated with a medical degree from Istanbul University, and subsequently completed his residency at Hacettepe University Medical Faculty Hospital from 1981 to 1986. Between 1986 and 1989, he worked at Forensic and Military Hospitals in Istanbul before becoming an associate professor at Istanbul University's Department of Psychiatry in 1990. He was later appointed as a full professor in 1996 and established both the Clinical Psychotherapy Unit and the Dissociative Disorders Program within the same department. Currently, he holds the position of Chair of the Psychiatry Department at Koç University Medical School, and is also a consultant psychiatrist at VKV American Hospital. In addition to these roles, he also practices independently in Istanbul.
