I graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1981. After completing my training as a General Surgery Specialist at Ankara Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, I worked at various hospitals, both in Turkey and the United States. I became an Associate Professor in 1996 and a Professor in 2003. Throughout my career, I focused mainly on breast, thyroid, and endocrine surgery. I also served in various committees and organizations, including the Turkish Surgical Association, where I was elected as the President in 2016. During my presidency, I managed various training programs and organized the largest medical conference in Turkey.

I established the Department of General Surgery at Firat University as an Associate Professor and became a Professor in 2003, focusing on Breast Diseases, Thyroid Diseases, and Endocrine Surgery. I held various positions at universities, Ministry of Health, and Social Security Institution. In 2016, I became the Turkish Surgical Association President and managed Competency Exams and Training Courses. In 2018, I organized the largest medical conference in Turkey, the 21st National Surgical Congress, with the highest number of speaker participations.
