Prof. Dr. Mustafa Öztürk, a distinguished Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist, was born on May 15, 1965, in Sinop, Ayancık. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Konya before pursuing higher education at Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry, graduating in 1989. Dr. Öztürk began his doctoral studies at Gazi University Health Sciences Institute the same year, focusing on Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases and Surgery.
In 1993, he became a research assistant in the same department and completed his doctoral studies in 1996 with a thesis on the effects of systemic corticosteroid application on the temporomandibular joint. He then became an Assistant Professor at Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Dentistry, where he also served as the founding vice dean for six years. Dr. Öztürk was later appointed as Assistant Professor at Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry in 2002, becoming an associate professor in 2004.
He served as Chief Physician of Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry from 2009 to 2012 and was appointed as a professor in July 2009. Dr. Öztürk has been a member of the Ministry of Health TITCK Science Commission and has numerous domestic and international publications. He retired in July 2020, leaving a lasting legacy in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
