Prof. Dr. Mehtap Polat, born in Ankara in 1977, is a highly accomplished specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology with a remarkable academic background and extensive professional experience. She completed her undergraduate education at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, receiving the prestigious "Honor Award" in 1999. Dr. Polat pursued her specialization training at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, from 2001 to 2005.
Throughout her career, Dr. Polat has been deeply involved in assisted reproductive treatments, polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis treatment, intrauterine insemination, and in vitro fertilization. Her dedication to advancing knowledge in these areas is reflected in her over 70 publications in both foreign and domestic journals. She has also served as a scientific publication consultant for esteemed journals such as "Human Reproduction," "Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics," and "Frontiers in Endocrinology," earning her the 'Best Publication Consultants' award from Human Reproduction journal in 2018.
Dr. Polat's commitment to academic excellence led to her appointment as an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2015 and a Professor in 2021. She has also been actively involved in various professional associations, including serving as a Board Member of the Turkish Reproductive Health Association from 2016 to 2021.
Currently, Dr. Polat is engaged in groundbreaking research, including an epidemiological study on the POSEIDON classification, a new classification for women with a low probability of conceiving through in vitro fertilization, as part of a multinational project. She also participates as a trainer in "Mastership programs" organized in Anatolia for colleagues from abroad.
