Prof. Dr. Gökhan Moray, born in 1965 in Bilecik, Turkey, is a distinguished General Surgeon with extensive expertise in various surgical fields. He completed his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1989, followed by a comprehensive General Surgery residency at the same institution from 1989 to 1995.
Dr. Moray commenced his professional journey as an assistant professor at Başkent University Faculty of Medicine in 1997, where he dedicated over 27 years of service. During this time, he ascended to the positions of associate professor in 2000 and professor in 2007. In 2008, he also earned a master's degree in Health Management from Başkent University Institute of Social Sciences.
From 2011 to November 2022, Dr. Moray served as the Head of the General Surgery Department and the Head of the Liver and Kidney Transplantation Programme at Başkent University Faculty of Medicine Ankara Hospital. In 2017, he became a faculty member in the Department of Transplantation at the same university.
Dr. Moray has an impressive academic record, with 359 international articles, 70 national articles, and six book chapters to his credit. He is an active member of several national and international surgical societies and has held various leadership positions within these organizations. His areas of interest include liver and kidney transplantation, hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, breast and endocrine surgery, hernia surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, colorectal surgery, perianal surgery, minimal invasive parathyroid surgery, and laparoscopic surgery.
