In 1998, my journey into specialization began at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery in Gazi University Faculty of Medicine. I completed my specialization in Plastic Surgery in 2004, and subsequently, I had the opportunity to work as a Research Fellow at the Plastic Surgery/Microsurgery Department of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the USA. This enriching experience lasted for a period of 1 year and 3 months between 2004 and 2005. During my time there, I conducted extensive research and published numerous original articles. Notably, I was involved in pioneering in vivo applications of bony face transplants, upper jaw and tooth transplants with the preservation of nutrition. Additionally, aside from my work in face transplantation, I gained valuable expertise in microcirculation, tissue freezing techniques, and experimental surgery involving nerves.
