Born in Istanbul in 1965, he is a distinguished figure in the field of reproductive medicine. He completed his education at Istanbul Boys' High School and later earned his medical degree from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. His journey towards specialization led him to the Gynecology Clinic of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf from 1993 to 1999. During this period, he actively contributed to the in vitro fertilization team, and for 18 months, he oversaw the operations of the in vitro fertilization laboratory.
His pursuit of excellence took him to various renowned institutions worldwide. He delved into the intricacies of andrology at Andrology Laboratory Services in Chicago, explored reproductive endocrinology and assisted reproductive techniques at the University of Basel Women's Clinic, and delved into the quality systems of in vitro fertilization centers at Boston IVF. He also gained valuable insights into business management at Shady Grove In Vitro Fertilization Center and IVI Valencia, while also acquiring expertise in multi-center management.
Throughout his illustrious career, he played a pivotal role in establishing and operating 13 in vitro fertilization centers, particularly within the esteemed EUROFERTIL group. His extensive research has been presented at international congresses, and his contributions have been published in esteemed international journals. These accomplishments have earned him numerous international accolades.
He holds memberships in esteemed organizations such as the American Society for Reproductive Health, the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology, the Society for Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, the Turkish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (TSRM), and the Society for Minimally Invasive Gynecology (MİJİD). He has also held esteemed positions as a Board Member at TSRM and MİJİD, and presently serves as a board member of the In Vitro Fertilization Centers Association.
In addition to his contributions to the field, he extends his expertise to the public through health programs on various television channels. Dr. Özörnek is also the author of the insightful book titled “I Want a Baby”. In April 2023, after dedicating 22 years to EUROFERTIL In Vitro Fertilization Center, he transitioned to the American Medical Center located on Bağdat Street, continuing his mission to make a positive impact in the field of reproductive medicine.
