Dr. Melike Oruç Özpostacı was born in Isparta in 1978. Her educational journey began in Isparta, where she completed her primary, secondary, and high school education. Graduating from Isparta Anatolian High School in 1996, she embarked on her medical studies at Hacettepe University's English Department of Medicine that same year. Dr. Özpostacı obtained her medical degree from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2002, after which she commenced her plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery training at Ankara Training and Research Hospital.
In 2005, she honed her expertise in breast and facial plastic surgery at the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Illinois in the United States. Following this, in 2007, Dr. Özpostacı pursued specialized microsurgery training at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. She earned the title of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist in 2008 and subsequently fulfilled her mandatory service at Isparta State Hospital from 2009 to 2011.
Between 2011 and 2013, Dr. Özpostacı practiced at Ankara Private Bilgi Hospital. In 2012, she successfully undertook the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) exam, which validated her specialization in Europe.
In 2013, she excelled in the chief assistant exam, leading to her appointment to the academic staff at Ankara Training and Research Hospital. Dr. Özpostacı attained the esteemed title of Associate Professor in 2018, continuing her invaluable role as an instructor. During this tenure, she actively contributed to the plastic surgery training of numerous assistant colleagues. Beyond her educational contributions, Dr. Özpostacı handled a diverse caseload, including intricate cases in hand, microsurgery, and reconstructive surgery, with a notable proficiency in aesthetic procedures, particularly breast plastic surgery.
In 2019, Dr. Melike Oruç Özpostacı embarked on a new professional chapter, establishing her own private clinic after leaving her position as a plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery training officer. Her academic journey is underscored by a prolific body of work, encompassing 45 scientific articles, with more than 30 published in esteemed international journals. Additionally, she has delivered nearly 100 presentations at both national and international scientific gatherings.
