Notably, he is among a select group of consultant microsurgeons in the Middle East who perform intricate free tissue transfers using perforator flaps.
Dr. Quttainah's journey began with his medical education at the National University of Ireland, followed by a rigorous five-year residency program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. His dedication led him to further studies, including a microsurgery fellowship at the University of Toronto, where he gained expertise in Breast Reconstruction using free tissue transfer and perforator flaps, as well as facial reanimation through free muscle transfer after facial paralysis.
Following his training, Dr. Quttainah's impact extended to the Middle East. In 2003, he assumed leadership of the Plastic Surgery Department at "SAAD" Hospital in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Subsequently, he initiated the pioneering "Cosmetic Surgery Clinic" in Kuwait, a comprehensive establishment encompassing a variety of cosmetic disciplines, such as Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, Facial Plastic Surgery, Gynecology, Bariatric and Non-surgical weight loss, Laser treatments, Skin Care, Anti-aging solutions, and Hair Care.
This innovative model proved not only successful but also convenient for patients seeking cosmetic enhancements, leading to its adoption both nationally and internationally. Dr. Quttainah's vision expanded, resulting in the establishment of multiple clinics before culminating in the foundation of the Quttainah Medical Center in 2016.
