Dr. Domenico De Fazio is a distinguished practitioner specializing in plastic surgery, reconstructive procedures, and facial aesthetics. He currently serves as the Head of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit at both the IRCCS Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute and the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital.
Dr. De Fazio possesses extensive expertise in regenerative surgery, with a particular focus on lipofilling using autologous adipose tissue for breast augmentation and body contour refinement. Additionally, he excels in facial reconstructive surgery, post-mastectomy breast reconstruction, and eyelid surgery. Dr. De Fazio earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Modena's Medical School in Surgery in 1991. Five years later, he pursued specialized training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Milano, once again achieving the highest honors. In 1994, he further honed his skills in Microsurgery at the University of Bordeaux in France, obtaining a Diploma in Microsurgery. During this time, he also gained valuable experience in Microsurgery at Pellegrin CHU Hospital in the Plastic Surgery, Reconstruction, and Aesthetic Surgery Department for Hand Surgery.
From the end of 1999 to the end of 2000, Dr. De Fazio served as the First Level Medical Director in the Plastic Surgery Division at San Matteo di Pavia Hospital. He later held the position of Head of the Plastic Surgery Operation Unit at the Salus Hospital Clinic of Reggio Emilia from 2004 to 2010. Additionally, from 2003 to 2014, he worked as an Assistant in the Plastic Surgery Division at the San Pio X Clinic in Milan.
